Twelve frogs are sitting on a log along the river. Seven decide to jump. How many are still sitting on the log? Did you say five or twelve? The answer is all of them – twelve. Even though seven decided to jump into the river, they didn’t take action and do it. There’s a big difference in doing versus deciding.
We all make decisions but if we don’t act, we aren’t going anywhere. Nothing changes, and we’re still sitting on the log. It’s often said that knowledge is power. But knowledge is only potential power. Action is power.
So what’s holding you back from achieving more, doing more, being more? Tell yourself, “You can do this!”
Here’s my 3-step process:
1. MAKE A PLAN. Determine what you want to accomplish and identify 2 tasks that will move you forward.
2. GET SUPPORT. Ask someone to keep you accountable to your goals.
3. TAKE IT ONE STEP AT A TIME. The secret to getting ahead is getting started. Decide on one thing you will do today to be on your way.
Soon you’ll look back and wonder what took you so long. In all push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you. You can achieve what you believe and work for! You can do this!
